This recipe goes together quick, and starts things off delightfully aromatic.
The final result is a salmon in a thick, savory, flavorful, fishy salty gravy.
Ingredients:
Whites of 10 green onions, sliced
Garlic (any form, I used paste, 2 cloves worth)
Generous squeeze light soy sauce
1/4 cup mushroom paste (see recipe in previous post)
2/3 cup strong Dashi broth
2 salmon filets (mine were frozen because I live dangerously)
A little olive oil for the pan
- Slice up onions if needed
- Drizzle oil in pan, set it to medium heat
- Soften green onion in pan
- Add garlic paste and stir well
- Add mushroom paste and stir well, then let cook for a few minutes
- Add salmon filets, soy sauce, and Dashi broth, put lid on pan, and let cook until fat seeps out from salmon. Maybe 10 minutes?
- Probably done, but make sure salmon is cooked through before serving
