I make my own coffee syrups. It’s really easy, and lets you control how much sugar vs flavor you’re putting in your food.
Also, you can make good stuff.
Base Recipe
2 c sugar
1 c water
Approx 2 Tablespoons of flavor extract (vanilla, orange, almond, whatever)
Put the sugar and the water in a small saucepan on the stove.
Heat up the mixture until the sugar dissolves, but don’t keep it at a hard boil for a long time.
Add your flavors.
Let it cool, then bottle.
If you want a thinner syrup, you can use 1.5 c sugar instead.
If you’re using a natural thing to flavor, flavor the water first, then stain, and then add the sugar.
If you’re using rose or orange blossom water, use half flavored water, half normal for mild, or all flavored water for a stronger syrup.
You can also use brown sugar instead of white. It will be darker in color and have a richer, more earthy taste.
