My Review of Les Floraisons Précieuses

By

Today, I smelled LVNEA’s Les Floraisons Précieuses, or “The Precious Blooms”. It’s a solid enfleurage-style perfume with a white floral core and an intimate silage.

I would describe the perfume as one for yourself or a lover– it’s unlikely anyone else will get so close to enjoy it… But if a full-bodied, lilac-forward composition is enticing to you, don’t let that stop you from trying it.

Enfleurage is a scent-extraction technique that involves laying fresh blooms on a fat substrate. Often, many rounds of flowers are needed, and often, the fragrance is still fairly mild. Still, for many flowers, such as fresh roses, this is the only way to extract the highest-quality fragrance of fresh blooms without the bitter notes of decay.

The fragrance is mild, with a smoothness and creaminess almost reminiscent of almond. It is white-floral forward, with lilac opening first, then hyacinth and gardenia follow. Mild green notes warm out the fragrance’s tail, with a hint of rose and a subtle sandalwood base.

Overall, I enjoy it, though it is a bit mild for my tastes. In winter months without so many environmental smells, I expect this fragrance to really bloom.
